The Honeymooners

Hiiiii everyone! It’s been so long, and I’m missing a few trips! But I’m here, with my HUSBAND! And we’re currently on a five hour layover at CDG in Paris, France. According to my Oura ring, I got 2hrs 47mins of sleep yesterday and 0hrs 0mins last night.. yikes!

This is not quite how our honeymoon was supposed to go, but we’re shaking it off and taking it in stride. We were meant to fly from BOS to LIS on Wednesday red eye, but the flight was delayed by 3 hours, we boarded, sat for 3 more hours, and then deplaned and flight was cancelled. There were both mechanical issues and then technical issues with the pilots/staff. I wasn’t able to rebook on my phone because we had already boarded but eventually I remembered I can call the silver medallion line with Delta, so while we were in line with like 300 other people at 6am Thursday, I was able to rebook over the phone - the soonest flight we could get left Thursday night at 7pm with a connection in Paris, so we are set to arrive in Lisbon Friday 10/16 at 1500 (originally Thursday 10/15 at 1045).

On a positive note, this gave me time to go get Evan a normal size suitcase, which meant we could go from having 3 bags to 2! We took the T home, took a short nap, I worked for a few hours, got Evan’s luggage, and then back to the airport we went. We used meal vouchers to grab lunch and then boarded our flight without incident - we did get two seats together so I was happy for that, although on the seat map it looked like we were sitting by ourselves when in fact there was a 3rd person in our row.

The flight was uneventful, a little turbulent in the beginning and a little noisy overall due to being in the back of the plane. I was able to get some sleep but I don’t think poor Evan got very much - maybe on the next flight!

We grabbed a croissant and coffee at a Pret inside CDG and are currently waiting for our flight to Lisbon to begin boarding. Au revoir!
