Tea Time

The night before last we ended the evening in the geothermal pools at the resort - they had both indoor and outdoor pools and it’s wild how warm the water is! I tried to get Evan in the sauna to help his cold but he got out of it because they closed at 9.

Yesterday we visited the Gorreana tea plantation on our way west to our next hotel. The weather was perfect and we did a nice hike through the tea plantation, had some homemade iced tea, and bought some green tea and black tea to take home!

We checked into our home for the next three nights, Santa Barbara Eco Resort. It’s northwest of where we were staying previously and on the water! There were three bottles of wine in our room and a plate of cheese, fruit, and chocolate! The first thing we did was run into a group of people from Massachusetts that are also staying at the resort. We went to the beach and Evan played in the waves - I cried because there are warnings about the rip current everywhere and I didn’t want anything to happen to him but he was fine.

After that we swam in the hotel pool that overlooks the ocean and then lounged on our balcony - Evan read and I added a night to our last hotel in Lisbon, we’re extending our vacation by a day to try to make up for some of the time we lost on the way in!

We had dinner reservations at a cute restaurant on the water where we could watch the sunset - Evan has really knocked planning out of the park. We ran into our hotel friends and after a man at the table next to us shattered his wine glass, we learned that they were from New England too! I told them we were on our honeymoon and the ladies got so excited, then when we left, our friends saw my just married jacket and also got excited and said they were going to buy us a drink!

We walked along the beach back to our hotel and shared a bottle of wine on our deck. Early night because we had an early morning whale watch scheduled!

Tchau!
